How this is kept
Hotels were chosen because the building itself is worth a note: a hall cut from river ice, a room fitted to the centimetre, a canal house joined to its neighbours, a pavilion left over from a world exhibition. Nothing was chosen for a rate, a review or a partnership, and no hotel is compared with another on this site.
Every note comes from material anyone can read: the hotel's own pages, maps, and published writing about the building. Where a claim could not be confirmed, it was rewritten until it could be. Each note carries the month it was read, and the full alphabetical list lives on The Index.
